About the Founder

SHD Advisory was established to serve business owners and organizational leaders who have outgrown basic compliance and need clear judgment, disciplined financial insight, and proactive advisory support as decisions become more consequential.

The firm’s advisory standards are shaped by the professional background of its founder, Sergey Primbetov, whose career spans environments where financial decisions carried regulatory, operational, institutional, and public trust & consequences. That experience informs how SHD Advisory evaluates risk, analyzes complexity, and supports client decision-making—consistently across engagements.

In addition to institutional and enterprise advisory work, Sergey has supported hundreds of small businesses, churches, and non-profit organizations, giving the firm broad exposure to the financial, governance, and stewardship challenges faced by both owner-led and mission-driven organizations.

Experience Pillars

  • Institutional & Defense Advisory

U.S. Department of Defense | International Defense Institutions

Sergey’s early advisory work was shaped in environments where financial accuracy, internal controls, and audit defensibility were mandatory—not optional. He supported U.S. Department of Defense and Pentagon-affiliated organizations on financial systems, asset valuations, and audit-ready reporting, and advised the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense on institutional transformation. He has passed both Secret and Top Secret level security clearance processes.

    Why this matters to clients:
This work and level of trust by our federal government built a discipline for operating where assumptions are challenged, documentation matters, confidentiality is a matter of national security, and decisions must hold up under scrutiny—skills rarely developed in traditional accounting paths.

    2024,

  • Central Banking & Regulatory Perspective

    National Bank of Ukraine

Sergey advised senior leadership at the National Bank of Ukraine on financial system and credit-sector reform, working alongside regulators responsible for stability, access to capital, and institutional trust.

    Why this matters to clients:
This experience informs how SHD Advisory evaluates financial risk, governance, and sustainability—especially when organizations operate with limited margin for error.

    2023,

  • Global Banking & Executive Leadership

    Highly Regulated Financial Institutions

In senior leadership roles within U.S. and global financial institutions, Sergey directed strategy, portfolio management, and growth initiatives across complex, highly regulated environments.

    Why this matters to clients:
Growth without discipline creates hidden risk. This background shapes how SHD Advisory helps organizations grow deliberately, with financial structure that supports—not undermines—long-term objectives.

    2023,

  • Small Business, Church & Non-Profit Advisory

    Hundreds of Owner-Led & Mission-Driven Organizations

Alongside institutional work, Sergey has supported and advised hundreds of small businesses, churches, and non-profit organizations, helping leaders navigate cash flow constraints, tax exposure, governance responsibilities, and growth decisions.

    Why this matters to clients:
SHD Advisory understands the real-world pressures leaders face: limited time, imperfect information, and fiduciary responsibility—without the safety net of large internal teams.

    2023,

  • Accounting & Analytical Foundation

CPA-Aligned Expertise & Enterprise Systems Experience

Sergey’s advisory foundation includes undergraduate and graduate preparation aligned to CPA core accounting disciplines, advanced financial and analytics training, and deep experience with ERP systems, financial reporting, and enterprise risk frameworks.

    Why this matters to clients:
Advice is only useful if it is technically sound. SHD Advisory combines analytical rigor with practical judgment.

    U.S. Marine Corps

Sergey served in the United States Marine Corps as a finance manager and administrative leader, with qualification as a Russian & Ukrainian linguist. He was deployed to Asia during the September 11, 2001 period and completed specialty training and qualifications in support of deployable units, including Airborne Parachute School, administrator school, and NCO leadership training.

    Why this matters to clients:
This background instilled discipline, discretion, and the ability to operate effectively under pressure—principles embedded in how SHD Advisory serves clients today.
